Pre-registration is capped at 20 attendees, drop-in price is $40, pre-registerd $25-30

We will have a one-hour practice from 9:30-10:30 afterwards for workshop attendees, allowing us to dance the rest of the night away at blues clubs or parties.

Class Descriptions... I'm still pretty flexible, and would love to include some stuff about transitions or tango if people are interested. Please comment on the windyhop thread.

Creativity Inside The Box (6:30-8). The central theme for this class is contrast. Applying textures (quick/slow, sharp/smooth, etc.) is a great way to get to "easy" creativity. We will start with some solo exercises, then build a supportive environment among dance partners through my popular "appreciation / increasing connection" drill and then do a whole lot of dancing and not as much talking. Since this is a 90-minute class, we will have some more time to focus on creating contrast between jook joint style and ballroom style blues, as well as slow drag and micro blues.

Creativity Outside The Box (8-9:30). How do you create a kind of movement that nobody has ever seen before? How do you break out of the mold? It starts small, which is why the previous class will be the perfect build-up. We will tell stories, read our instructions on how to dance from non-dance-related books, learn how to dance with three or more people. Musicality is key to creativity and will be addressed in both classes.
