8:00-9:00 The Three Dimensions of Blues
We'll show how you can change levels and use the floor space to make your dance multi-dimensional just using the basics of Blues.

9:00-10:00 Musicality - how many flavors do your moves have?
We will show you how you can dynamically alter your favorite blues movement to fit the feel and emotion of the music.

10:00-2:00 Friday Night Blues

1:00-2:00 Fine Tuning Your Connection
There's no greater satisfaction in partner dancing than feeling connected to your partner. We will give you tips and insights into helping you achieve the highest level of connection.

2:00-3:00 The Yin & Yang of Blues
While there's a lead and a follow, the line can be crossed in creative musical ways. We will show you how to share the lead & follow on both sides.

4:00-5:00 Class with Guest Instructors

5:00-6:00 Musicality - Hitting the accents
We will show you some of their favorite ways to hit the breaks and accents in the music.

6:00-7:00 The Blues Conversation
We will show you how the dance becomes a dynamic musical conversation between lead and follow.


**SUNDAY JAN-18** (Oakland)

12:00-1:00 The Melting Factor
Having a high "melting factor" is one of the goals of a great follower. We'll show you how to achieve that from one of the most "melty" followers on the Blues dance floor. And what role the lead plays in helping that happen.

1:00-2:00 Less is More
Just what it says. We will show you how to do (a lot) less, but get more out of your blues movement. Think "Dawn Hampton"....

2:30-3:30 Class from Guest Instructors

3:30-4:30 Stretching & Gushing
We will show you how to answer those moments in the music when it calls for sustained movement (think horns, or long notes).

4:30-5:30 Putting It All Together
This will be the pay-off class. We'll put all of our new skills to use with one of our favorite blues tunes.

Solo Cutting Competition Results It was a great comp, entertaining and engaging. Congrats to the winners:
  • 1st: Miriam Grill
  • 2nd: Dimitri Kantsyrev
  • 3rd: (tied) Rachael Byrne and Brandon Istenes
  • Roy as a Video DJ It's been a long time since he's showed them off, but Roy has quite a collection of vintage videos. This Friday he's going to DJ from his video collection. Ben will be trading songs with him to provide balance.
