Participants

It looks like we'll only have 12 participants (13 with Jon), which is fine.

Classes

I would like to have Brenda chat with you about your class ideas. From what I've heard, we're going to have some awesome ones! Talking to Brenda will help set your expectations for what this environment will be like, and help us have a coherent curriculum as a whole.

Andrew -
Brenda - Tricks and air steps with partnered technique, paying attention to momentum, etc.
Carsie -
Greg - Something about musicality
Jesse -
Julie -
Kerry - Something about creativity and improvisation??
Lucky -
Mihai - I would like to explore transitions, perhaps with a student-centered approach which would include groupwork.

Transportation

Carsie has kindly agreed to coordinate transportation. Please let her know when you get into town. Brenda and Julie, you and I are on the same flight from Austin, so I've already let her know.

Food Preferences

Carsie's friend, Nicole, will be driving in from far away to cater. She has asked me to get your food preferences... Could you please help me fill in the blanks?

Nicole will try to cook 3 meals for us for $15 a day, but depending on how much different stuff she gets, it may be as much as $20 a day. Please think about what you would tip if we had to go out to eat and consider tipping Nicole at least a good portion of that.

Andrew - omnivore
Brenda - vegetarian, doesn't eat dairy (butter is okay)
Carsie - omnivore
Greg - fully vegan
Jesse - omnivore who doesn't mind eating vegetarian or vegan
Jon (Thu/Fri only) - omnivore, no fish
Julie - no red meat/pork/sea food, allergic to tomatoes
Kerry - doesn't eat dairy (though can with lactaid), prefers not to eat meat, eats fish
Lessa - omnivore
Lucky - vegetarian, eats dairy
Mihai - omnivore
Shaheed - omnivore

Finances

I believe I have spoken to all of you about the minimum payment of $75. If you're teaching at the workshop, you will make more than that, so I will pay you the difference.

What I would really like everyone to pay, however, is $150. If you've already budgeted $75, that's perfectly fine. It was my responsibility to communicate my expectations. Of course, my expectations did not become clear until Andrew's retreat in May.

As a comparison, Andrew asked for a minimum of $100 ($65 for food, $35 for the host who also dealt with some logistics, nothing for himself) but what would make him really happy was $300. I am asking for a minimum of $75 ($25 for Brenda, a bit for Carsie and the rest for myself). What would make me really happy is $150. I am treating food as a separate expense.

Admission to the workshop (for those of you who are not teaching in it) is included, which makes it a pretty good deal.

Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to a great 4 days with you...

Take care,
Mihai =)
