Who gets invited?
This is a highly subjective list based on first-hand knowledge and, on rare occasions (especially for leads), on confirmed trusted advice from friends.
For example, I know who Evita is, and I remember dancing with her in LA years ago. When I danced and chatted with her more at the Austin Exchange did I consider inviting her. Hearing that she was among Jeramie's top recommendations was a nice bonus.
Qualities I look for (again, subjective)
- very popular social dancer
- teaches dance, or wants to, or should
- curious and open-minded
- plays well with others
- committed to blues dancing OR
- very interested in blues AND committed to tango/lindy/other dance
