What do people say about the dance retreat?

I've done all kinds of dance events from workshops both in town and out of town, camps, exchanges and all kinds of house parties. My experience with the blues retreat was my favorite of all of those. It is an excellent way to build friendships with good dancers off the dance floor, in addition to getting new perspectives on your dancing.—Titus Fortner

I loved the blues retreat I attended, and will, when opportunity allows, be attending another. It is an unparalleled opportunity to receive feedback on one's teaching and to experiment with exciting and new material. The bonds I formed with the other members of the retreat continue to grow.—Topher Howard

I wanted to say thank you all for a wonderful three days together. All my initial reservations about the retreat were gone within the first 24 hours. It was amazing to see how well 12 people could bond together. I've never seen that happen before with such a large group, and especially in such an intense and intimate circumstance. It really never felt like there were 12 people.... I think it's the people that makes something like this successful. I learned a lot about each of you and about myself.—Bill Borgida

The get-together and blues retreat renewed my passion for dancing and deepened my relationship with everyone there, including people I had known for many years in less intimate settings. As a student, I was more engaged and attentive than ever. As a teacher, I appreciated the feedback on my existing ideas and the inspiration for new ones. The success of the retreat is very much aligned with learning theories by people like Frank Smith and Carl Rogers, and I am very excited about further exploring the concept.—Mihai Banulescu
