"Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain." --Anonymous
Welcome WorkshopsJump to registration...Purpose...If you are new to the Blues Dance community, the Welcome Workshop is a perfect starting point. In this three-hour condensed lesson you'll learn the basics of step and movement, understand the history and vernacular of blues dance, and develop an instinct for physical communication. No experience or dance partner is required for this session. It is designed simply with the purpose of acquainting your body to a new role on the dance floor and developing your confidence and enjoyment as a dancer. Just like any new practice, there will be some trial and error in the adaptation process. In this workshop, however, you'll be working out this process at the same pace as other students, and under the instruction of teachers who will guide you through each step, and helpers/alumni returned to practice and speed your learning. That's right, after you've taken it we expect to see you back! We encourage students to take the Welcome Workshop multiple times in order to solidify and practice their foundations, and to help welcome new dancers. After your first time, subsequent Welcome Workshops are 50% off. Upcoming Schedule...
Topics covered will include connection, musicality, body flight and swing, drive, body alignments (natural, counter, and contra), pivots, turn technique, embrace, frame changes, and blues vocabulary, for close and/or open embrace. What You Need To Know RegistrationFeedback? |
